Predicting the WWE Superstar Shakeup

Will Smackdown get the shaft yet again?

Another WrestleMania means that another Superstar Shakeup is close behind.

The idea of the shakeup is a good one – everyone likes a little change now and again. The possibilities run wild through our heads, who will end up where? What new feuds will we see? Will Smackdown get the shaft again?

If I were the man in charge, Smackdown would reap the benefits of this year’s Superstar Shakeup. Daniel Bryan’s return should jumpstart the blue brand becoming a powerhouse.

So here we go: I’ll name a few superstars that should get a brand change, and then I will give my final predictions on who actually does swap shows because there is no way WWE listens to all my suggestions.

Two of the three participants in the Intercontinental Championship triple threat match should go to Smackdown. The combination doesn’t matter – Miz and Rollins, Rollins and Balor, or Balor and Miz – but Smackdown should net two of these studs. (Right off the bat that seems like a huge ask.) Smackdown should have never lost the Miz in the first place; he was the best heel on the show.

Could you imagine some of the feuds we could get if WWE was smart enough to make this move? AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins, Finn vs. Shinsuke, Finn vs. AJ, Daniel Bryan vs Seth vs Finn. There could be a “dream match” match every month for Smackdown. It would be an absolute wrestling clinic and I am already drooling over the possibilities. Honestly, if WWE would just grant me this with the caveat that you leave Styles on Smackdown, I would be happy. You can do whatever else you want (within reason) and Smackdown has come out on top.

As for the four participants in the U.S. Championship match at WrestleMania, Raw can have Bobby Roode and Randy Orton. Hell, they can have everyone! In all seriousness though, Roode should go to Raw. If you are going to keep him a face, he needs better options to feud with than Orton, Jinder Mahal and Rusev.

Kevin Owens should go to Raw. We need to stop with all of the Shane and Kevin stuff. He is an unbelievable talent and he could have a great feud with Roman Reigns to put him back in the main event picture.

Trade The Bar for The Usos. Everyone knows that outside New Day and The Usos, the SD tag division is WEAK. So this changes things up a bit. The New Day and The Bar can put on some great matches and have a sustained feud. Also, the Usos can face some new blood in The Revival, Anderson and Gallows and maybe the Authors of Pain? Just a hunch.

Swap Naomi and Natalya for Sasha Banks. Since we keep screwing around with this Sasha and Bayley feud, let’s just cut bait and try again later. This will make a great top four for each show. On Raw you will have: Rousey, Bliss, Nia and Bayley. On Smackdown you will have: Charlotte, Asuka, Sasha and Becky. That is a pretty even split.

Send Dolph Ziggler to Raw, and bring Jeff Hardy to Smackdown. Dolph needs to do something since he just signed an extension, so why not stick him on Raw and see what happens? Part of me wants to see Jeff stay with Matt and become a part of the Broken/Woken gimmick, but the other part of me would like to see Jeff get one last singles push.

Tell me that isn’t brilliant stuff there. Am I wrong? I don’t think so. Unfortunately, I don’t think Vince takes all of my advice, so let me make my predictions for what does happen.

Raw gets:

Bobby Roode
Baron Corbin
The Usos
Becky Lynch
Tye Dillinger

Smackdown gets:

Finn Balor
The Bar
Sasha Banks
Anderson and Gallows
Elias

Overall, each show makes out pretty well. I can’t stress enough that Smackdown should get two of the three of Miz/Balor/Rollins, but I just don’t see it happening. Smackdown does get better with these additions, but they just miss the opportunity to become an electric show.
