H20 Wrestling Debuts On FITE TV

Get ready for Matt Tremont & Danny Havoc’s Deathmatch Extravaganza #2.

FITE TV goes extreme on November 16 as H20 Wrestling makes its debut with Matt Tremont & Danny Havoc’s Deathmatch Extravaganza #2.

Built on hardcore wrestling and never-ending hustle, Matt Tremont’s New Jersey-based company will finally be seen by a worldwide audience. After four years of rapid growth and a tremendous relationship with Smart Mark Video, partnering with FITE TV is the next logical step, according to the world’s most dangerous promoter.

“With how the business is evolving, the goal for the last year has been to get on some sort of streaming service,” Tremont told The Wrestling Estate. “It gets more eyes on the product and creates another source of revenue.”

The death match legend launched H20 in June of 2016 as a fun side project. Happy with running only a couple shows a year, Tremont says it quickly blossomed into a lot more. In July of 2018, he took over the former OTW Arena in Williamstown, New Jersey, renaming it the H20 Wrestling Center at The Kevin Hogan Memorial Hall. Hogan, affectionately nicknamed “Whack Packer,” was a longtime wrestling fan often seen in the front row of events throughout the Northeast. He passed away in February of 2017.

After six years of co-owning Old Time Wrestling and dealing with the hassle of leasing space at the Monroe Business Center, former ECW referee Jim Molineaux decided to scale back operations and run spot shows in different buildings around the South Jersey area. Tremont had previously rented the building for H20 events, so it made sense for him to give his company a permanent home. Since then, the promotion has run monthly live events and opened the H20 Wrestling Academy, holding biweekly student shows on Monday nights. In addition to renting the building out to other promotions, Tremont has used it for birthday parties, WWE and AEW pay-per-view viewing parties and even a flea market.

“Everything I’ve accomplished in the business is because of the fans’ support,” Tremont says. “Anytime they come through these doors, I make them feel like family instead of a paying patron. I say it before and after every show, H20 Wrestling is the mom-and-pop corner store of the wrestling business. I don’t have any bigtime sponsors, vendors or financial backers. We literally strive, thrive and survive off the $20, $25 and $30 they pay at the door, buying merch and buying a hot dog. Every single dollar they give in the amount of time we have them at a show goes to paying our bills and paying our talent.”

The lineup for the FITE TV debut is a thank you to the H20 faithful, as well as a blood-soaked introduction for new viewers. H20 Champion Lucky 13 will defend the gold against Devon Moore and Orin Veidt in the first Widow’s Walk Scaffold match. There will also be three first-time deathmatches, featuring the best talent H20 has to offer and battle-scarred veterans of the chaotic scene. Chuck Payne, fresh off losing the Hybrid Championship to Danny Gallagher on Halloween, will collide with SHLAK in a brutal monster mash. Kody Rice, who recently won his first deathmatch tournament at the Southern Sickness Cup in Memphis, TN, will face the ultimate test in Tremont. And then Alex Colon, two-time H20 Champion and the inaugural Hardcore Kingdom winner, will take on Clint Margera.

“When people think of deathmatch wrestlers from the United Kingdom, they think Jimmy Havoc, Mikey Whiplash and Big F’n Joe,” Tremont says. “But Clint Margera has been around longer than all of them. I wanted to give him a shot to tell people he’s still here and can do it just as good or better than everybody else.”
