H20 Wrestling Begins New Era

Matt Tremont’s Hardcore Hustle Organization has a new home base.

When one door closes, The Bulldozer kicks it down.

Matt Tremont has announced that his promotion H20 Wrestling (Hardcore Hustle Organization) will be moving into the former OTW Arena in Williamstown, New Jersey. In its new home base, the company will be running live events monthly as opposed to bi-monthly, and will be opening the H20 Wrestling Academy later this summer. In addition, the venue will be available to rent for birthday parties, seminars, wrestling matches and other occasions.

The venue has been officially renamed the H20 Wrestling Center at The Kevin Hogan Memorial Hall. Hogan, affectionately nicknamed “Whack Packer,” was a longtime wrestling fan often seen in the front row of events throughout the Northeast. He passed away in February of 2017.

“This is the biggest venture I have taken on in my 11 years in professional wrestling,” Tremont wrote on Facebook. “As a promoter and business owner, this is a huge step in the growth of the Hardcore Hustle Organization. With the development of this promotion and business, and now looking at our long-term future in the business, this move allows myself to continue to give back to the industry that has given me so much. This is for you and this company of hardworking men and women.”

In May, OTW co-owner Jim Molineaux announced that Old Time Wrestling would no longer run weekly live events or accept any new students at the venue. After six years of owning the company and dealing with the hassle of leasing space at the Monroe Business Center, the former ECW referee decided to scale back operations and run spot shows in different buildings around the South Jersey area. Sole Survivor – OTW’s signature two-night tournament – was the company’s final event in the arena.

“It was like running two households,” Molineaux told The Wrestling Estate. “It’s my signature on the lease, so I’m the one always worried about making rent every month, dealing with the insurance, having the fire inspector come through. Instead of all the bills involved in running a building every month, I’d rather go somewhere and ask for x amount of money to put a show on. All my worries would be taken care of.”

Molineaux had hosted H20 events in the venue for the past year. Seizing the opportunity, Tremont decided to take over for Molineaux and give H20 a permanent home. The new era starts this Saturday as H20 presents “Opening Day: Prove Yourself.”

It’s not just a catchy title – Tremont has urged aspiring grapplers to step up to the plate and make a name for themselves at the event. Mitch Vallen has answered the call.

At the 2nd anniversary show in June, Alex Colon defeated Jeff Cannonball for the H20 Championship. Following the match, Ron Mathis made his way to the ring and went on a verbal tirade until Colon gave him a title shot. After interference from MIKAEL, Mathis hit Colon with a tombstone piledriver to become the new H20 Champion.

His reign may be short-lived as he’ll defend the title against Maria Manic in the main event of “Opening Day: Prove Yourself.”

Additionally, Charlie Tiger, Jordan Oliver and Elis Taylor will all make their H20 debut in a “Prove Yourself” 3-Way Dance.

Also in action, Stockade goes one on one with Mouse, Aero Boy faces Alex Colon in a first-time matchup, Shlak and Kit Osbourne take their social media war into the ring, and “Pryme Tyme” Amy Lee plans to “skullfuck” DJ Hyde.

Plus, it’s a championship showcase as H20 Tag Team Champions The Extricated welcome current NYWC and CZW Tag Team Champions The Rep.

H20 Opening Day: Prove Yourself takes place at the Monroe Business Center, Building C Suite 1, in Williamstown, New Jersey, on July 7.
