Fantasy PPV: Cold War

Who will survive the Match of Anarchy?

What if all the top wrestling companies in the world got together and said, “let’s blow the whole thing up and start from scratch?”

Eleven companies will then rise from the ashes, having a draft to determine how the best talent in the world will be divided up for the foreseeable future.

The draft will be conducted through email – 12 rounds. As far as the talent pool goes, all active wrestlers are available. Part-timers are usable, semi-retired wrestlers are not. (So Brock Lesnar and John Cena are fair game, Triple H, Undertaker and HBK are not.) Some wrestlers can be taken as tag teams, but the caveat is that you have to use them in the same match.

At the end of the draft, we will also have a bonus 13th “legends” round, where you can draft one legend to appear on your show in any way you see fit. The only rule here is that the legend has to be in their present-day form, so you can’t get, for instance, Shawn Michaels from 1997. You won’t be able to draft Chris Jericho, though, as he will be able to appear on any of your shows without having to use a draft pick on him, kind of like as he does in real life, almost like a free space in bingo.

At the end of the draft, you will then submit a “2-3 hour” pay-per-view card to show how your talent would work together in your fictional wrestling company. We’ll run Twitter polls to let readers vote on who has the best roster and who created the most entertaining PPV.

You can find all of Neal Wagner’s draft picks here.

Anarchy Wrestling presents Cold War live from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

9:00 Show opens with Tony Schavione welcoming the audience:

“A first time ever experience of panic, chaos and disorder and tonight the main event will crown a first Anarchy Champion in the Match of Anarchy. The match is an Over-the-Top-Rope Battle Royal with entrants coming in every 60 seconds. When we get to the final two participants, the match is won by pinfall or submission. All members of the roster will be in the match tonight and maybe a surprise name or two, Don Callis.”

Callis: “Indeed, Tony, and many other matches already set for the evening. The likes of Roman Reigns, Kota Ibushi and my personal favorite, ‘The Villain’ Marty Scurll are in action tonight and then will be back for that monster of a main event.”

Tony: “Steve Corino here with us tonight as well. Steve so much talent under one roof tonight but our matchmaker Nigel McGuinness has already set up a few matches for us that you have first-hand knowledge of.”

Corino: “I do, Tony. Nigel already gave me an open invitation to a party.”

Tony: “What party are you talking about Steve?”

Corino: “It’s a SUPERKICK PARTY, Tony! That’s right, The Young Bucks are in three-way tag team action tonight against So Cal Uncensored and The Bar. I expect an all-out brawl with that one. I’m also calling it now, Evil will reign tonight with Tomasso Ciampa in action. But right now let’s now give a call back to the former Ring of Honor promotion with the opener Nigel has booked for us. It’s finally going to happen, Jay Lethal goes one on one with Matt Taven.”

9:03 Introduction and match: Matt Taven vs. Jay Lethal

9:15 Ending of the match:

Lethal gains the upper hand on Taven and gets him down on the mat. As he lines up for the Lethal Injection, he faces the stage area where Maria Kanellis is taunting Lethal. Michael Bennett attacks Jay from behind and begins to beat him down alongside Taven. Maria comes into the ring applauding them. Taven and Bennett hug and reunite. “Thy Kingdom Come Home” screams all three in unison.

9:17 Nigel McGuinness comes out :

“So this is how you three want to conduct your business? Jumping Jay Lethal from behind? The Kingdom can reunite all they want but I’m not letting this very first match of our organization end like this. So, if you want to fight, then this match will continue later tonight. You two will team up and face off with Lethal and any partner of his choosing. And I’m going to add a special stipulation to that match. Whoever takes the pinfall in the match will enter The Match of Anarchy at #1 immediately following. Good luck, boys.”

Taven and Bennett flip out over the news and quickly exit the ring. Lethal grabs the microphone: “Taven…Bennett, you two dumbasses don’t know what you have done. I can get a partner. I know someone who is here tonight that you’re not aware of and he still owes me a favor.”

Tony: “Looks like we got us a tag team grudge match later tonight and the match is taking place just minutes before The Match of Anarchy.”

Corino: “But who is Lethal’s partner?”

Callis: “Lethal doesn’t have any friends back there. He is bluffing and is going to walk into a slaughter against The Kingdom tonight.”

9:19 So Cal Uncensored backstage segment

Daniels: “Boys, are you ready for a fight tonight?”

Kaz: “I’m ready to fight CD. You and me in the three-way tag match and all of us in the Anarchy Match later. It’s going to be an SCU night. Right Scorpio? Hey, what’s wrong with you?”

Sky: “I can’t focus guys, there’s just something that keeps bothering me. I mean, I honestly believe that this may be ‘The Worst Town I’ve Ever Been In’.”

Daniels: “It’s ok, Scorpio. Despite that fact, they are some badass wrestling fans and they know that SCU is going to entertain them tonight.”

Sky/Daniels/Kaz: “SCU!”

9:21 Introduction and match: Tomasso Ciampa vs. Kota Ibushi

9:31 Ibushi gets ready to hit Kamigoye but Ciampa slides out of the ring and walks out. Ibushi wins by count out. Ciampa walks by the announce table and yells to Corino, “Shut up, that why you’re retired. You’re sitting at a table and I’m going to win a championship.”

Ciampa yells to the crowd: “I win. Evil lives!”

Corino: “What is his problem? I put him over earlierwhen I said he would win tonight…what the hell?”

Tony: “Steve, pull yourself together. We got a long way still to go tonight. Let the wrestlers get him later on tonight.”

Corino: “He’ll be dealt with.”

9:31 Tony: “Backstage right now as we regroup, we got Roman Reigns standing by and ready for the next match. Roman you face of with Tetsuya Naito tonight and we know how dangerous he can be. You have never faced a man like this before in your career, what are you doing to prepare for a match like this?”

Roman: “I had to do some tape study on this one but…”

At this moment, Ciampa bumps into Roman and stares him down.

Roman: “You got a problem, Ciampa?”

Ciampa walks slowly backwards, lifts one hand and waves bye to Roman: “See you tonight.”

Callis: “Hey Roman, good luck because you’re going to need it.”

9:33 Introduction and match: Roman Reigns vs. Tetsuya Naito

9:40 During the match, Naito throws Roman over the top rope, and then runs to the other side of the ring and dives over the top rope, but stops short on the apron and hits his Tranquilo pose as Roman moves out of the way. He looks out into the crowd with a smile on his face, not realizing that Roman gets a running start and hits Naito with an immediate Drive By.

9:56 Naito goes for Destino, but Roman flips out of it and hits Naito with a spear and covers for a 3-count. Both men take a minute to recover in the ring until they finally come face to face in the middle of the ring and shake hands while continuing to stare down each other. It’s all about respect at the end of it all.

9:59 Tony: “Backstage right now we have Sheamus and Cesaro, The Bar, as they prepare for a 3-way tag team match with SCU and Young Bucks. Sheamus, Cesaro, are you ready for a different kind of competition tonight?”

Sheamus: “Shut up, fella. Remember that before any of these idiots made a name for themselves on the independents, I was already a world champion and Cesaro was punching more guys in the mouth then any of them will ever superkick. They don’t even have the shamrocks to try that shit with us, fella.”

Before Sheamus finishes that thought, two feet come into the camera: one hits Sheamus and the other hits Cesaro.

Corino: “SUPERKIIIIIICCCCCKKKKKK!”

SCU is seen walking behind the activity going to the ring and looks over towards the Bucks and down at The Bar.

Kaz: “SCU you bitches in the ring.”

10:02 Introduction and Match: SCU w/ Scorpio Sky vs. Young Bucks vs. Bar

10:03 Before the match begins, The Bar stumbles out and begins pushing and shoving with the Bucks and eventually begin mouthing off to Scorpio, who starts laying into Cesaro and Sheamus. Referee sees everything and pulls Sky off The Bar and ejects him from the match or SCU risks disqualification from the match.

10:20 The Bar finally snap at end of the match and begin to attack Daniels, Kaz and Bucks with multiple steel chairs, Brogue Kicks and Neutralizers. Sky runs back out to help, but is laid out and put through a table by Sheamus via a Razors Edge to the outside of the ring.

10:23 Tony: “I don’t know what to say at this point. This was a sad attack on many great talents and you have to question now if any of these men will be able to make it to the Match of Anarchy later tonight.”

Callis: “The Bar made a statement laying everyone out. They will be the two to watch during the main event tonight. I think this was all a laid out plan.”

Corino: “Or was there potentially someone else leading them to do it?”

Tony shoots a curious look towards Corino.

Tony: “You know something we don’t?”

Corino: “I’m just asking questions.”

10:25 Introduction and Match: “Switchblade” Jay White vs. Marty Scurll

White will attempt to win by his own “villainous” ways, feet on the ropes, removing a turnbuckle pad and ramming Scurll into it, shoving the referee into the ropes while Marty is on the top. The tactics don’t work, though. End of the match comes when the referee catches an accidental back elbow by White and he goes for a low blow only for Marty to counter, hit a low blow of his own and then roll up White and throw his feet onto the ropes for the win.

Callis: “You don’t Villain the Villain and Jay White can’t do what Marty Scurll does.”

Corino: “Marty Scurll is definitely an Evil man.”

10:40 Introduction and Match: The Kingdom w/ Maria vs. Jay Lethal and Mystery Partner
The Kingdom make their entrance together and stand in the ring while Jay Lethal enters and stops short of the ring.

Lethal: “Yeah, I got a partner and all I had to do was call in a favor.”

Chris Jericho’s pyro hits and he comes out to a thunderous ovation from the crowd. Lethal and Jericho jump into the ring and begin the match by clearing the ring of The Kingdom. Tony: “Keep in mind whoever suffers the decision in this match must immediately begin the Match of Anarchy.”

11:05 Ending of Match:

Jericho makes a leap and hits a Codebreaker on Lethal. Jericho backs off as Taven and Bennett stand in surprise, Taven smiles and then goes for the pin on Lethal and scores the 3-count for a Kingdom victory.

Corino: “WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!”

Tony: “He just stabbed Lethal in the back and Taven scores the victory. Lethal is going to have to start the Match of Anarchy.”

Callis: “I’ve known Jericho for years and I have no idea what this is about.”

The Kingdom leave and Jericho hits Lethal with two more Codebreakers.

Jericho: “I don’t owe you shit Lethal. I don’t owe you shit. I don’t owe anybody a fucking thing, you son of a bitch!”

Security comes in and escorts Jericho out of the ring as the announcement is made that Jay Lethal is now officially the first entrant for the “Match of Anarchy.”

Tony: “Whoever number 2 is is going to have an easy route to begin this match. Keep in mind new entrants every 60 seconds and when it comes down to the final two, the match is won by pinfall or submission.”

11:10 Introduction of Second Entrant and Match: Match of Anarchy for the World Heavyweight Championship

Jay White enters the match at #2 and gets in the ring, picks up Lethal and immediately eliminates him from the match. White now awaits #3.

The entrants continue as follows: Nick Jackson (3), Cesaro (4), Sheamus (5), Scorpio Sky (6), Marty Scurll (7), Kazarian (8), Matt Jackson (9), Michael Bennett (10), Christopher Daniels (11), and Jericho (12).

When Jericho enters at #12, he makes about half way down the ramp and then is attacked from behind by Jay Lethal coming for revenge. Lethal gets several punches from a mounted position on Jericho and is pulled off by security. Jericho slides into the ring to get away from Lethal as he is dragged off to the back. Jericho turns into a clothesline from Marty Scurll and is eliminated.

Entry #13 is Tommaso Ciampa followed by Tetsuya Naito (14), Matt Taven (15), Kota Ibushi (16) and Roman Reigns (17).

The match continues on after Roman enters and then Nigel McGuinness comes out when the timer goes off one last time a minute later and makes the announcement: “There is one final surprise entrant.”

Ciampa stands in the middle of the ring and begins to wave towards Nigel and screams to come into to the ring.

Corino: “Guys, I got some business to take care of.”

Corino stands up from the announcers table and climbs into the ring, revealing himself to be the final entrant. He goes face to face with Ciampa who is smiling and yelling at Corino: “How Evil are you?”

Corino is hit from behind by Naito. He and Ciampa never touch during the match.

11:50 End of Match:

The final 6 for the match come down to both Young Bucks, Cesaro and Sheamus, Ciampa and finally Roman Reigns, all of whom are standing at all different corners of the ring. Bar goes after Bucks and Ciampa and Roman square off. After a double attempted superkick on Ciampa, The Bucks miss and The Bar run in and double eliminate both Bucks.

Tony: “We are down to the final four.”

Callis: “And Roman Reigns has to be exhausted at this point after competing in this and going 20 minutes earlier tonight with Naito.”

Ciampa stares down Roman while standing next to The Bar who turn around and stand next to Ciampa and put their fists into the air, ala The Shield. Ciampa sticks his fist together with The Bar revealing an alliance.

Tony: “WHAT HAPPENING? HAS CIAMPA AND THE BAR JOINED TOGETHER AGAINST ROMAN?”

A 3-on-1 attack begins on Roman. As the match continues, Roman flips Cesaro over the top rope, but he lands on the apron of the ring. Roman ducks quickly from a Brogue Kick, leaving Sheamus to accidentally eliminate Cesaro. Sheamus turns around into a Superman Punch from Roman and we are down to the final two.

Tony and Callis: “ROMAN’S GOING TO DO IT!”

Tony: “The match must now be won by pinfall or submission to crown an inaugural World Heavyweight Champion.”

The Bar continue to interfere in the match, but each time are stopped by Roman. The referee finally jumps outside the ring to chase The Bar out and when Roman hits Ciampa with a Superman Punch, he backs up into a corner to line up for a spear. Sheamus keeps the referee with him while Cesaro sneaks by and jumps on the apron towards Roman.

While this happens Corino begins yelling out loud “TOMASSO…TOMASSO.” As Ciampa looks over to Corino on the outside, Corino slips Ciampa two rolls of quarters behind Roman’s back. Roman knocks Cesaro off the apron and charges towards Ciampa, who throws a hard right hand loaded with the quarters. Roman is knocked out, but not enough for Ciampa as he lifts Roman up and hits him with the Fairy Tale Ending and covers.

Tony: “Ciampa is going to steal the title!”

1

Tony: “WHAT THE HELL DID CORINO JUST DO!”

2

Tony: “NO!”

3

Tommaso Ciampa is the NEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Ciampa and Corino go face to face and embrace as The Bar re-enters the ring and the four celebrate.

11:54 Several overhead lights from the lighting rig spark and burst. The lights go out in the arena.

Callis: “Have we lost power?”

Tony: “Are we on the air?”

The lights come back on as Ciampa, The Bar and Corino stand in their same exact spots, but instead of over top of Roman…

Tony: “OH MY GOD IT’S THE UNDERTAKER! HE IS IN THE RING!”

Undertaker appears and is laying in the exact spot that Roman originally was. Roman is nowhere to be found. Undertaker immediately grabs Ciampa by the throat, but is swarmed by The Bar and Corino. Ciampa escapes with the title and begins to head up the entrance way. Undertaker fights off The Bar with dueling Chokeslams to both men and then corners Corino. He grabs Corino by the throat and slashes his throat with his thumb towards Ciampa and plants Corino with a Tombstone. Ciampa turns to run away and is met with a spear by a charging Reigns. Roman now stands over Ciampa, picks up the world title, holds it over his head and then drops it down onto Ciampa’s waist. Undertaker stares at the proceeding on the ramp and moves his hands around his waistline signifying that he also wants the World Heavyweight Championship.

Tony: “What a night this has been. One of the greatest nights in the history of this revolutionary company. Sooner than later, Tomasso Ciampa will have to pay for his sins by The Grim Reaper.”

11:58 Cold War goes off the air with Undertaker in the ring staring at Roman on the ramp standing over the fallen champion Tomasso Ciampa.
