Modern Vintage Wrestling Thanks Fans With Free Show

This Saturday at the H20 Wrestling Center in Williamstown, New Jersey.

After a wildly successful debut in Philadelphia in January, in which fans had to be turned away at the door of the Bruiser Brody Cup, Modern Vintage Wrestling was supposed to return to the City of Brotherly Love in March.

Tanga Loa and Chase Owens of the Bullet Club were slated to face Killer Kross of Impact Wrestling and Jason Kincaid, former MVW Heavyweight Champions. However, there was a zoning issue with the venue – Old Pine Community Center – which forced the promotion to cancel the event.

As a make-up to the fans, MVW will be running another event – “Hustle and Grind 2” – this Saturday at the H20 Wrestling Center in Williamstown, New Jersey. And it’s absolutely free!

“There’s no charge at the door,” says Charlie Armstrong, promoter of Modern Vintage Wrestling. “We’re not going to have a bucket at the door collecting donations. This is us saying thank you for supporting us.”

Armstrong warns fans to get there early because seating will be first-come, first-serve, and he’s expecting a large crowd due to the main event. DJ Hyde of CZW will team with ECW original CW Anderson to battle Matt Tremont and another ECW original – New Jack.

“New Jack is an interesting character,” Armstrong says. “He is one of the guys that get misread a lot. He moved back down to the Carolinas, so he hasn’t been in this area a lot. We began a relationship a couple years ago. He said ‘Call me if you need me, brother.’ So I called him and said I need him for this show.”

That’s not the only intriguing tag team bout scheduled: Fallah Bahh of Impact Wrestling will make his MVW debut, teaming with fellow super heavyweight Mecha Mercenary. That’s at least 800 pounds on one side of the ring! They’ll take on “The Orange Avenger” Tommy Moose, a former Superstars of Wrestling Federation (SWF) Heavyweight Champion, and “Mr. No Limits” Chris Banks, a staple of Warriors of Wrestling (WOW) out of New York City. Moose and Banks will be looking to avenge their loss against Monsta Mack and MAGIC from Brody Cup.

Speaking of tag teams, Armstrong says Six-Man Tag Team Titles will be unveiled this summer. “We’ve decided to not do traditional Tag Team Titles because there are very few traditional, real tag teams left in the business on the independent scene that will be there all the time,” he says. “So, we want to create the very best six-man teams in the world and present a ‘summer series’ as well. We’re not going to call it a tournament so we don’t have to lock people in.”

Also announced for “Hustle and Grind II” is Beastman facing Stockade. Both competitors took part in the inaugural Brody Cup, which will have a sequel on April 2, 2020, in Tampa, Florida. “I always told myself I would never run a show during WrestleMania Weekend,” Armstrong says. “It’s too much of a headache with the stress and drama. Then a lot of people asked when we’re going to do another Brody Cup. A lot of people want to see some overseas talent in the next one. The best way to present that is WrestleMania Weekend because everybody is in town.”

In addition, Armstrong says that legends of yesteryear will collide with up-and-coming talent of today in the first Eddie Graham Battle Royal during Brody Cup II.

Hustle and Grind 2 takes place Saturday, April 27, at the H20 Wrestling Center in Williamstown, New Jersey.

Admission is free!

You can watch Hustle and Grind 2 a few days after the event on Fite TV.
