Who Will Win The Owen Hart Tournament?

The Owen Hart Tournament brings viewers the chance to watch some of the top matches in AEW.

One of the most famous and exciting Canadian wrestling competitions, the Owen Hart Tournament, is set to start soon. As such, many have started to speculate on who this edition’s winner will be. Canadian betting apps have also started to release their futures parlays for the tournament finals on the 29th of May. The first bets should also be released very soon, after the matches get announced.

The Owen Hart Tournament brings viewers the chance to watch some of the top matches in the Men’s and Women’s categories, including legendary wrestlers such as Dax Harwood and Jeff Hardy.

The quarter-finals kick off on May 11th, during Dynamite. The organisation announced the finals will happen at the Double or Nothing PPV on May 29, in Las Vegas. Here are the qualifiers so far:

Men’s Qualifiers

Five out of seven participants have qualified to the 2022 edition of the Owen Hart Tournament. Check out those who’ve made the cut:

Samoa Joe – After defeating Max Caster on April 6, Samoa Joe won a direct qualification to the tournament.

Kyle O’Reilly – O’Reilly managed to defeat Jungle Boy on April 20, securing his spot in the competition.

Adam Cole – Cole won his spot after defeating the almighty Japanese wrestler, Tomohiro Ishii, on April 22.

Dax Harwood – Dax took the victory over his tag team partner Cash Wheeler on April 27.

Darby Allin – The Rampage star qualified by winning against Swerve Strickland on April 29.

The two remaining spots will be winners of the Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Fish and Rey Fenix vs. Dante Martin fights on May 4th.

Women’s Qualifiers

All six participants in the Women’s category have been determined. The list includes:

Toni Storm, who won against The Bunny on March 30.

Jamie Hayter, after defeating Skye Blue on April 1.

Hikaru Shida secured her spot after winning against Julia Hart on April 6.

Red Velvet qualified by beating Willow Nightingale on April 8.

Ruby Soho, who defeated Robyn Renegade on April 15.

Dr. Britt Baker DMD, after winning versus Danielle Kamela on April 20.

Possible Tournament Winners

The best thing about this special tournament is that anything can happen and participants are up for decision until the last minute. The best examples are Brian Pillman Jr., Jay Lethal and Jungle Boy who, despite being the favourites, haven’t managed to secure a spot in this exciting competition.

The same thing happens in the Women’s category, with big names such as Anna Jay and Tay Conti not getting the chance to participate. However, many wrestlers have shown their determination to win; take a look at some of the possible winners:

Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy just joined his brother Matt in the AEW on March 16 , bringing the famous Hardy Boyz tag team duo back to the spotlight. After leaving the WWE last December, Jeff has been in great physical condition and has everything to take the title at the Owen Hart Tournament.

Red Velvet

Many consider Red Velvet an uncrowned champion in the AEW Women’s Series, as she’s been showing some great performances, especially after joining The Baddies stable. And what better way to show her reputation by winning the Women’s Owen Hart Tournament, especially after such a powerful exhibition against Willow Nightingale in the qualifiers?
