UWA Elite Fans Rock The Vote At iWrestle

This was the New Jersey-based promotion’s best show of 2021.

Despite what President Biden and Texas lawmakers think, freedom of choice is still the best course of action in the United States of America.

Look no further than last night’s UWA Elite iWrestle, in which fans voted on the matches, opponents and stipulations, resulting in the 20-year-old New Jersey-based promotion’s best show of the year.

With 61% of the vote, “Sweet Cheeks” Joey Silver kicked off the event against UWA Elite iChampion BT Bull. After tossing candy to the 90 some-odd attendees outside the South River VFW, the sugar rush began as Silver struck the champion with a flurry of offense, including a tornado DDT and suicide dive. Silver even walked the ropes a la Undertaker’s old school, but Bull shoved the challenger to the ground. Bull’s arrogant boozehound Nicholas Kaye pounced on Silver before tossing him back inside the ring for more punishment, which included Bull dumping the rest of the candy and then stomping on it.

That’s akin to masking your first grader in front of DeSantis. Silver exploded with a drop kick off the top rope followed by the Candy Crush (picture the Unprettier as a backbreaker). Unfortunately, Silver went to the high-risk district one too many times, being caught mid-air in Bull’s coquina clutch and subsequently tapping out.

With 60% of the vote, Flash Carter earned a shot at UWA Elite Iron Man Champion Eddie Thomas. In a promo leading up to iWrestle, Thomas channeled his inner Trump, being dismissive of Carter and claiming to not even know the youngster. Well, he sure does now after Carter absorbed every blow and kept coming back for more. Desperate to put the upstart away, Thomas resorted to low blowing his challenger behind the referee’s back and then hitting The Stroke to retain.

With 53% of the vote, The Designated Hitters reunited to chase their third UWA Elite Tag Team Titles, taking on the new champions Eric Corvis and Bowes. After exchanging pleasantries like Pelosi and Soros, the champs threw the first punch. It was a helluva hoss fight with surprisingly solid teamwork from both makeshift alliances. In the end, Corvis splashed Hedges and Bowes hit a flying elbow drop onto Corey Dillinger for the stereo pin.

And then there was the match of the night. Sick of being bullied and no longer intimidated, Ref Ryan answered KTB’s open challenge. UWA Elite owner Dave Swan earned 37% of the vote to be named special guest referee for what on paper looked like Ref Ryan’s funeral. However, the “Energizer Referee” shocked the crowd by bringing the fight to his ruthless adversary, even busting out a spinning heel kick! Of course, the frenzy didn’t last long, as KTB overpowered his foe and pummeled him into submission. (There’s an in-depth account of the match coming, but as Jen Psaki says, you’ll have to circle back for that.)

In the main event of iWrestle, Joey Adams – the winner of this year’s “DynaMike” Davis Memorial Tournament – received his shot at UWA Elite Champion Vincent Valentine. With 56% of the vote, the stipulation was a dog collar match. Roddy Piper and Greg Valentine would be proud of the brutality. However, Adams also had to contend with The Army of the Dark Angel, as Valentine’s cronies kept interfering and it was perfectly legal. Ultimately, Valentine caught Adams off the top rope with a well-timed kick to the groin, followed by a cutter for the victory.

Despite the bitter outcome, the fans definitely got their money’s worth as UWA Elite reminded us that democracy still exists in this great country.

UWA Elite iWrestle will be available soon on the UWA Elite Network.
