DynaMike Davis Memorial Tournament Bracket

Here are the participants and matchups for UWA Elite’s biggest annual tournament.

UWA Elite returns to the Middlesex County Fair this year for the “DynaMike” Davis Memorial Tournament.

Twenty-four men will compete throughout the week for a shot at the UWA Elite Championship, currently held by Vincent Valentine. First-round matches take place Monday through Thursday. Each of the winners on their respective day will collide in a triple threat as part of the semi-finals. Then, all the triple threat winners will clash in a fatal four way in the finals.

Both the semi-finals and finals take place at UWA Elite Crossroads on Saturday, August 7, at 8 p.m. EST.

On Monday, Merrick Miami meets Goldy, “The Dilligent One” Corey Dillinger (fresh off a victory at Livin On The Edge this past Saturday) takes on Miles Thomas and Wet Brett tangles with Prince.

On Tuesday, it’s a battle of former tournament winners as “The Wretched” Bowes faces King Tek. Also, Flash Carter goes against Ironman Champion “Explosive” Eddie Thomas and Lukas Finnegan meets Boom Harden.

On Wednesday, last year’s winner Mike C-Way takes on Drake Chambers, Eric Corvis faces Joey Adams, and Ty Thomas meets iChampion BT Bull.

On Thursday, 2015 tournament winner Hedges battles Chris Powers, one half of the Tag Team Champions Adam Bizare faces Territory Champion Matt Vertigo and Johnny Strong goes against Sean “Damage” McNelis, a decade after he last won the tournament.

“The DynaMike Davis Memorial Tournament has been a huge springboard for everybody that has ever won it,” says Dave Swan, owner of UWA Elite. “It’s without a doubt our biggest showcase for talent all year. The Crossroads Tournament is one of our longest traditions, dating back further than UWA Elite itself. But it’s importance to the roster has really grown in recent years when it was renamed after DynaMike Davis in 2017.”

“DynaMike” Davis was a member of the BROtein Pack, a trio of frat bros obsessed with their physiques who became the scourge of UWA Elite. The gym rats got matching gear with their names in the iconic red and yellow (for Retro Fitness, of course). Squatting and flexing during matches, they’d resort to any tactic to get the job done. They also racked up all the gold: two-time Tag Team Champions, the final Trios Champions, the 2016 Tag Team Combat Cup winners, back-to-back Tag Team of the Year honors in 2016-2017 and 2019-2020.

It was a meteoric rise for the trio before tragedy struck.

Davis was murdered on November 21, 2016. According to police, two men planning to rob a Verizon Wireless store in Forks Township, PA, were following employees home from their shifts, The Morning Call reported. The goal was to abduct a worker and bring him back to the store, forcing him to unlock the door and disable the alarm. Davis was the first employee targeted. He apparently resisted the gunmen and was killed outside his home in Palmer Township, PA.

He was 25 years old.

“It was a real punch to the gut,” says Blade, who has worn Davis’ headband in every match since. “Mike’s death sucked the air out of everything. But it also motivated me because he would want us to keep going.”

In December 2017, police arrested the two men long suspected of Davis’ slaying. In June 2019, the two men – both 29 years old – were sentenced to life in prison, Lehigh Valley Live reported.

The Middlesex County Fair runs from Aug. 2 to Aug. 8 at 655 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, NJ.

Tickets to the matches are free with fair admission.
