PCA, #TheDraw Clash At ECWA Witching Hour

Chris Wylde returns to action, challenging ECWA Heavyweight Champion Mike Law.

There appears to be a cease fire in the ongoing PCA civil war, at least for one night only.

Azrieal remains irate after teammate Mike Law yanked his tights to retain the ECWA Heavyweight Championship at the ECWA 51st Anniversary Show last month. However, the former champion has decided to wait until after Law’s next title defense to settle the score with his comrade over who truly is the leader of the PCA.

“It seems to me that you’re letting this ECWA Championship go to your head,” Azrieal said in a Facebook video. “You’re doing nothing but digging your own grave. PCA is a family, yet you call yourself the new leader of the PCA. Leaders lead by example, and the only example you’re setting is running away from your challengers.”

Law has nowhere to run on October 13, when he defends the gold against Chris Wylde at ECWA Witching Hour. The former champion made his shocking return last month, assisting fellow #TheDraw members One Mean Team in retaining their Tag Team Titles. After breaking his wrist in a match with Joe Gacy in May, Wylde announced that he refuses to compete unless he’s challenging for the heavyweight title.

It’s perfect timing for Wylde to strike Law: while PCA is crumbling, #TheDraw is stronger than ever. Hopefully AJ Pan has a plan to keep the most prestigious title in the PCA.

Meanwhile, Azrieal has taken his aggression out on Ty Awesome. After their triple threat match last month, he left Awesome barely conscious after hitting a brainbuster and frog splash. As “Ty Is Awesome” chants echoed throughout the building, Azrieal snapped back with “Ty Is Dead!” Since his breakout performance at the Super 8 in April, Awesome has been riding a wave of momentum. You can rest assured that he’ll be seeking revenge and possibly the biggest win of his career this Saturday at Witching Hour.

Also last month, Wylde announced that from now on the Tag Team Titles would be defended under #TheDraw rule. Originally instituted by the Fabulous Freebirds, the rule means that any members of the stable can defend the gold. It’ll be interesting to see whether Brian Johnson, Justin Pusser, Adam Chandler or even Miss Jasmine steps up to the challenge of Marcus Waters and the Funky White Boy.

The newest member of the PCA, Joey Ace, made his in-ring debut last month against ECWA Mid-Atlantic Champion Joe Gacy. After a grueling back-and-forth battle, the action spilled outside the ring as both men brawled all over the Asbury United Methodist Church. As a result of the double countout, a rematch has been scheduled for Saturday under falls count anywhere.

Fresh faces continue to enter the longest-running independent promotion in the United States as four grapplers will make their debut at Witching Hour: Demi Exo will take on Davienne and Ike Philips will meet “The Mile High Magnum” Dak Draper.

ECWA Witching Hour takes place Saturday, October 13, at the Asbury United Methodist Church in New Castle, Delaware.
