Who Is The PCA’s Masked Man?

Perhaps we’ll all find out Saturday at ECWA Witching Hour.

It’s been a turbulent year for ECWA, but one thing remains constant: the PCA is on top.

At the promotion’s 52nd Anniversary Show last month – its return from going on hiatus in June – ECWA Heavyweight Champion Joey Ace introduced new members to the PCA. With Mike Law announcing his departure from the company and Azrieal’s whereabouts unknown, it appears that Ace and kingpin AJ Pan have restocked their arsenal. “The Shining Star” Rey Calitri pledged allegiance to the PCA by closelining ECWA owner Mike Tartaglia and then helping Ace lay the beat down on Kekoa. A masked man also joined the assault, attacking Ty Awesome from behind.

Perhaps the PCA will have to atone for its sins this Saturday at ECWA Witching Hour, as all four members will battle Kekoa, Tartaglia and the returning Ricky Martinez in a handicap main event. Rumors are swirling that the masked man will reveal his true identity in this match. With the influx of fresh faces in the promotion, it’s anyone’s guess who Pan and Ace have recruited this time.

Speaking of Ace, he was stripped of his ECWA Mid-Atlantic Title last month, resulting in a tournament to crown a new champion. Two quarterfinal matches will take place this Saturday at the Asbury United Methodist Church in New Castle, DE: former ECWA Heavyweight Champion Ty Awesome will meet “Shamrock Shooter” Killian McMurphy and Violence will take on former ECWA Tag Team Champion Tahir James. Violence made his debut last month, getting disqualified after blasting Chris Wylde with a chain. It was an even worse night for Awesome, who was injured by the PCA and forced to tap out in the triple threat championship match. Whether Awesome is healed remains to be seen, but you can bet McMurphy will target his leg.

Wylde will welcome another newcomer to step between the ropes with the “Cinderella Man:” Nikos Rikos. The former WrestlePro Silver Champion has been building quite the reputation on the indie circuit, recently competing in a triple threat with Azrieal and even appearing on NXT against Keith Lee. A win over Wylde would instantly put Rikos’ name on the map in ECWA.

In a rematch from last month, ECWA Tag Team Champions Marcus Waters and Funky White Boy will defend their titles against Unstable (Geddy Cahoon and Michelle). Led by Dr. Carl Martin, the creepy duo gave the champs their toughest challenge since winning the gold last October. After repeated interference by Martin, all four combatants lost their minds, battling to a double count out. That won’t happen this time, as they’ll compete in a Texas Tornado match.

Finally, the popular Gabby Ortiz moves one step closer to being a permanent fixture in ECWA, facing newcomer Vicious Vicki. Diagnosed with SICK Scapula (an intense form of shoulder pain), Ortiz returned to action earlier this year at the ECWA Super 8 Chickfight. The Philly girl beat Gemma Cross in the quarterfinal, upset Scarlett Bordeaux for the ECWA Women’s Championship in the second round and ultimately came up short against Quinn McKay in the finals. But Ortiz returned last month in victorious fashion over Sammi Pandora.

ECWA Witching Hour takes place Saturday, October 19, at the Asbury United Methodist Church in New Castle, DE.
