Civil War Breaks Out In ECWA

New ECWA Heavyweight Champion Mike Law defends against former champion and teammate Azrieal.

Tension is boiling over in PCA after “Colossal” Mike Law won the ECWA Heavyweight Championship from fellow member Azrieal.

At ECWA’s return to the Bourbon Room in Atlantic City last month, Azrieal was slated to defend against Ty Awesome, a reward for the rookie after a breakout performance at the 22nd annual Super 8 Tournament. However, Law was inserted into the title fight after his scheduled opponent The Boogeyman failed to show up. It seemed too good to be true that PCA could double team Awesome – eventually Law and Azrieal collided. The champion went to the well one too many times as Law blocked a frog splash and hit a brainbuster to win the gold.

“From the time I came into this company over a year ago, people didn’t give me the time of day,” Law said after winning the title. “Well tonight, as God as my witness, and everybody who has watched me take over since the Super 8, I am the new representative of this organization. I am the guy. I am the man. I am the champion who is going to lead this company to heights it has never seen before.”

Azrieal has been granted his championship rematch for this Saturday at ECWA Rock N’ Wrestling in A.C.

With a civil war underway in PCA, the question on everyone’s minds is whose corner will manager AJ Pan be in on Saturday.

“Az got a little overzealous in asking Mike to lay down for him,” Pan wrote on Facebook. “Both men are incredibly competitive. They spar together before shows to loosen up. On this night, under these circumstances, Mike proved to be the man on May 18th.

I understand Az’s frustration. It’s what Joe wants. He wants The PCA to be no more. I’ve spoken with Az. After settling down, he realizes Big Red is in the family, Az is still my guy. I will not apologize for being proud of Mike’s accomplishment. There have been times I know management didn’t want to give him the ball. They didn’t see in him what I have for 16 years. We are still fam. Don’t you worry. We are looking forward to June 16th as we prove #WeAreFamily.”

One of the hottest rivalries in ECWA history continues as Brian Johnson and Justin Pusser seek revenge against DOA after Frankie Pickard and Tahir James dethroned One Mean Team for the ECWA Tag Team Championship at the Super 8 in April. This time it will be an inter-promotional title fight as One Mean Team currently hold the OTW Tag Team Titles.

Fresh off submitting Chris Wylde, Joe Gacy will defend his newly won ECWA Mid-Atlantic Championship against Wylde’s #Draw cohort, Adam Chandler the Great. Unlike last time, Miss Jasmine as well as the devious Joel Blackhart will be at ringside, stacking the deck against the “Pro Wrestling Maniac.”

In other championship action, Christina Marie looks to continue her reign of destruction by defending the ECWA Women’s Title against Sammi Pandora.

After defeating Matt Saigon in his retirement match last month, Kekoa is looking toward the future. On Saturday, the grand slam champion will compete against the notorious Teddy Hart in Hart’s debut for ECWA.

Originally, a battle between Super 8 winners Sean Carr and Richard Holliday was scheduled, but Carr suffered an injury and had to be scratched from the bout. Taking his place will be former ECWA Heavyweight Champion, the returning VSK.

Speaking of the Super 8, Ty Awesome will take on Anthony Greene as this year’s semifinalists find out who would have won had they faced each other.

ECWA Rock N’ Wrestling takes place Saturday, June 16, at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
